The keyed reasoning
An investor asks what HR contributes to sustainability when the report covers only emissions and packaging. Describe HR's contribution through human rights, safety practices, labor standards and compensation. Referring the investor to the environmental team cedes a role the BASK assigns to HR. Commissioning an external ESG rating delays an answer HR can already give. Headcount and turnover figures are workforce statistics, not sustainability activity.
A site director proposes relaxing safety to a weaker local legal minimum to cut cost. Maintain safety practices and labor standards as part of the sustainability commitment. Bare legality is not the ceiling: the CSR definition commits the organization to improving the quality of life of the workforce. Asking a works council to approve the reduction seeks endorsement for the same reduction, and applying the lower standard only to contractors just moves it onto a different group of workers.
